We are proud to announce to announce that yet another year we have renewed the UNE 188.001 Tourism Quality Standard through AENOR, the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification.
The tourism quality standard UNE 188.001 is a management tool used in Spain, specifically for the golf services industry. Obtaining the “Q” for Quality is a guarantee of a quality tourist service.
The following requirements are evaluated and must be approved to pass the annual audits:
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT Requirements to be met are established in reference to the commitment of the management, planning process, golf course management systems, resource management process, measurement, analysis and continuous improvement, environmental and safety management and marketing.
INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND ATTENTION TO THE USER The minimum requirements to be fulfilled in reference to basic information to the user, attention to the same and information on the state of the course are established.
SALES AND RESERVATIONS The application requirements for the management of sales and reservation services are identified.
GAME MANAGEMENT Minimum levels of quality are established for game management services.
COMPLEMENTARY SERVICES TO THE GAME The complementary services to the main activity of the golf course are defined and how they should be managed: services managed by the golf course, services outsourced to third parties, independent services, rental and sale of equipment and materials, teaching golf course, golf car rental, club room and changing rooms.
ADDITIONAL GAME SERVICES The necessary requirements for additional gaming services are defined: social room, restaurant, bar or cafeteria, dining room service, vending machine service, parking and toilet rooms. It is not mandatory to have all these services, although in the case of having them, the established requirements must be met.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE This section includes the requirements of water resources management, fertilization, pest control, cultivation practices, product storage and maintenance of field equipment, maintenance of emergency and fire systems, as well as air conditioning, heating, hot water supply, general equipment and maintenance of electrical installations.
DESIGN OF THE COURSE Recommendations and obligations are established regarding the design of the course.
Club de Golf Alcanada is currently the only course in the Balearic Islands with this certification.
