THE CLUB

History

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams”. This proverb perfectly sums up the history of Club de Golf Alcanada, a place which started with a dream…the dream of the owner, Hans-Peter Porsche.

1985

During a dinner between Mr. Hans-Peter Porsche and our current club president, Mr. Federico Knuchel, a discussion commenced about building a golf course on Mallorca. A few weeks later an ideal site was found in the north of the island.

1998

13 years after the purchase of the land and a lot of perseverance and negotiating skills, all the necessary permits and licenses were finally in place to start building the golf course.

Hans-Peter Porsche contracted the world-famous golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones Jr., asking him to blend the course into the natural terrain to maintain the typical Majorcan landscape.

The existing andover 100-year-old buildings, which serve today as the club house, pro shop, restaurant and locker rooms, are renovated.
