It is true that the ability of each player to hit affects a lot when it comes to playing golf. But many people forget one of the great allies in this sport: balls. They have an almost determining role and, depending on their characteristics, they can affect the trajectory, height, speed … Knowing the different types that exist will help you choose the one that best suits your style of play, thus achieving optimal results such as the great golf professionals.

Types of balls in golf
The most important thing when choosing a ball to compete with is knowing what we are up against and what we can find on this side. We already handle the clubs, we know how to position ourselves, we control the wind, but… what about the ball? Do you know how they affect our blows? Why are some more optimal than others?

Golf balls are usually divided into two types: hard and soft. This is determined by the number of layers they have. Well, in the end, depending on their composition, they will yield less or more.

Soft balls in golf

When we talk about soft balls, we refer to those that allow us to have better control of it. These have a smaller number of layers, exactly two, and are recommended for the advanced or professional player. It is not that an amateur or beginner player cannot use them, but if you are looking to get the most out of it, we advise you to leave them for when you are more experienced. Thus, once you advance, you yourself will check the differences between one and the other. And you can choose the ones that best suit your style of play.

Hard balls in golf
In hard balls, however, we will get a greater distance in the shots. Whether you are a beginner or a potential player, these types of balls allow you to gain control and power in your shots.

Is it better to use new or used balls? The answer is simple: it depends. Most players prefer used and recovered ones to practice with and play in competitions. Most are classified depending on their wear. The pearl type are the ones that have the least cuts or friction, many of them are untouched. The more damaged, the more it can affect the flight by having irregular parts.
