I’m sure you are aware of the exciting news about Club de Golf Alcanada hosting the Grand Final of the Challenge Tour 2019 (November 4-11, 2019). We would like to provide some further information regarding the event.

Course access for members and alternative options during tournament week

While some other host venues close for several weeks in advance of an event, fortunately, we will only have to close the course and all practice areas during the actual week of the tournament. During the 14 days prior to the event, the European Tour will start to prepare the course and the additional facilties required to host the event. This may lead to some noise and disturbance, especially around the club house (tents, mobile offices, TV, internet, signage, roping etc).

Volunteer Programme

This may be a fantastic opportunity to become key participants in this event as volunteers. This might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to actively participate in the organisation of a Tour event and we will not be able to run the event without this assistance. We hope you will enjoy the opportunity to get involved as it should be great fun.

We are looking to find 45 volunteers for each day for a variety of roles (scoreboards, scoring, marshalling, ball scouting, TV etc.) and we hope that most of the volunteers will work at least two days which will make the organisation and logisitics a lot easier (Thursday November 7 – Sunday November 10, 2019). Volunteers should register through the website of the Balearic Golf Federation, via the following Link: https://www.fbgolf.com/noticia/road-to-mallorca

Volunteers will be supplied with a uniform for the event, food and drinks during the time on the course, one green fee for 18 holes at Alcanada for every day you work and entry to the “players party” after the prizegiving on Sunday November 10, 2019.

Pro-Am: November 6, 2019

Monday November 4 and Tuesday November 5 will be used as practice rounds for the competitors, but the Pro-Am will take place on Wednesday November 6.

Parking

During the week of the tournament, all parking areas in and outside the golf course will be blocked (organisation, TV compound, players parking, volunteer and staff parking). So those members who want to come by the club as spectators will have two options:

1. Find parking nearby and walk up to the course.

2. There is official spectator parking in Alcudia and regular shuttles to and from the venue. More information will be coming soon.

We are very excited about hosting this event. We appreciate your understanding that the organisation of this event will cause some disturbance on and off the course.
