The Common Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) is present throughout the year in Alcanada golf course. It can be seen both during the breeding period and, Autumn and Winter. This species is therefore plentiful both on the course and the surrounding area.

It is a sedentary bird and has not, historically been abundant in Mallorca as a whole. Nevertheless in the locality of the golf course it does seem to be increasing lately.

This gallinaceous bird has a large and long tail, and a striking plumage in males, while females are brownish and inconspicuous. Males have red wattles on the head and body reddish brown with lots of light and dark spots.
