Alcanada named No1 course in Europe for 7th time

Club de Golf Alcanada, situated on the island of Mallorca, continues to prove a popular favourite amongst golf fans. Readers of the respected German magazine “Golf Journal” voted the course as their favourite for a 7th time in 9 years.

The Golf Travel Awards, which also saw Mallorca voted as the number 1 golf destination and achieve 5 courses in the top 10 in Europe, has seen Alcanada record 2 runner up finishes and 7 number 1 spots during its 15 year history.

The beautiful Robert Trent Jones Jr- designed course and top Mallorcan venue, which overlooks the famous Bay of Alcudia, beat off stiff competition from the likes of 1997 Ryder Cup host Valderrama, Thracian Cliffs and Tour favourite St Andrews.

The awards were launched in 2002 and have since become the most popular opinion poll for golfers in Germany, with participants voting for their favourite golf courses, resorts, hotels, destinations, and airlines in seven categories.

The accolade is the latest honour to be bestowed on the club and is further reward for a long-term continuing programme of investment designed to deliver the best possible golfing experience to its members and visitors.
