The Balearic Golf Federation Celebrates the 2025 Awards in Palma

Nearly 300 attendees at an evening of recognition, season review, and institutional tribute

Palma, Friday, January 16, 2026 – The Balearic Golf Federation held its 2025 Golf Awards gala last night, Thursday, January 15, at the Palma Congress Palace. The event brought together nearly 300 attendees, including authorities, institutional representatives, sponsors, clubs, federations, athletes, and members, to recognize the season’s champions and the work carried out throughout the year.

The event was attended by the President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, and the Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, as well as Ministers Guillem Ginard and Jaume Bauzá. Representatives from the national golf federation and community also attended, including the honorary president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Gonzaga Escauriaza, as well as presidents of other Spanish golf federations and the season’s award winners. Among those present were Rodrigo Martín, CEO of Juaneda Hospitals; Jesús Mª Calvo of Baleahouse; Jordi Caldentey of Qromia; and José Luis Roses of Bodegas José Luis Ferrer, all sponsors of the Balearic Golf Federation (FBG).

Following the opening remarks and the speech by the president of the Balearic federation, a video summary highlighting the main competitive milestones, events, and activities of the 2025 season was shown, before the awards ceremony began.

During the gala, hosted by IB3 Radio sports journalist Marta Sanpas, the awards for the various Balearic Championships were presented.

Among the most notable titles, the Balearic Absolute Individual Championship crowned Zoe Zavoralova and Teo Senoglu as scratch champions, and the Balearic Professional Individual Championship saw Toni Ferrer crowned champion.

The ceremony also served as an opportunity to review a particularly significant season for the Balearic Golf Federation (FBG), marked by an increase in registered players, the introduction of new competition formats, and the strengthening of strategic projects. Within this context, the Federation unveiled its new visual identity and website, designed as key tools to enhance the profile of Balearic golf and modernize its communication and service channels.

In the special mentions section, the Federation recognized the recent career of professional golfer Nuria Iturrioz (Son Servera Golf Club) for her fifth victory on the Ladies European Tour, achieved at the Aramco Houston Championship (United States).

Likewise, the Balearic Islands’ victory in the Spanish Pitch & Putt Championship of Autonomous Communities, held in October in Galicia, was highlighted, with recognition given to the team members: Miquel Deyà, Nicasio Domínguez, José Manuel Pulido del Moral, and Astin Richard Nustedt.

But undoubtedly, the most emotional moment of the evening came with the tribute to Gonzaga Escauriaza, honorary president of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, for his career and especially for his support of Balearic golf. The President of the Balearic Government, the Mayor of Palma, and the President of the Federation participated in the ceremony.

The gala concluded with speeches from the Mayor of Palma and the President of the Balearic Government, who, through their presence and words, underscored the importance of golf’s development in the islands. Official photographs and a celebratory cocktail reception for all attendees brought a fitting end to a memorable evening.
