At the end of the 2015 event in Tenerife, it was announced that the chosen venue for the next IGTM event was Majorca.

Maybe many people will be surprised by this designation to host an event of this magnitude for many reasons: infrastructure, destination, number of golf courses… But it’s really something on which everyone involved in the sector have been working a long time.

This has laregely been made possible by government support for this initiative from the beginning. This new Mallorca Trade Fair will make it increasingly possible to develop a new type of tourism: conferences and events that until now were not reaching the island.

Although Mallorca is not known for golf tourism, it has 23 courses in the area, some like the Club de Golf Alcanada, selected among the best golf courses in Spain. The number of players who come to the island to play golf is increasing every year, especially golfers from countries like Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia and Great Britain.

Mallorca is known as a sun-and-beach destination, but this will change gradually thanks to promotional actions such as the IGTM 2016, which will increase its visibility in countries from which the island receives crowd of players each year.

During the upcoming months, the developments that will arise in the IGTM 2016 will be announced. We hope the event will be a success that will benefit all, both Mallorca and Spain.
