Alcanada “Bronzed” with 59Club glow

Club de Golf Alcanada is celebrating success after raising a Bronze Flag at the Home of Golf.

The outstanding Mallorca course underwent an extensive €700,000 renovation project over the winter – which included the replacement of all 18 greens – and received further recognition of its achievements at the ninth edition of the 59club awards, hosted at St. Andrews.

The 59club awards’ evening has become the industry standard for measuring and comparing customer-service levels, analysing all key revenue streams for golf and leisure venues, and is committed to the ongoing development of club managers and PGA professionals.

The awards are also designed to honour the highest-achieving golf venues across all business elements – sales, service, operations, retail and management.

In addition, 59club has introduced new criteria so that different golf clubs can be recognised equally, to reward those achievements. This means two categories have been established, based on the average green fee price,

While Alcanada is no stranger to 59club awards and has picked up a long list of accolades in recent years, director of golf, Kristoff Both, insists it remains as important as ever to rub shoulders with top golf courses in Europe and to share that success among the Alcanada staff.

Both said: “It is always a great honour to receive awards and this is a source of great pride. It is further demonstration of the huge effort from each and every member of the team to offer the highest quality of service.

“These awards recognise those clubs which provide excellent facilities for members and guests. So it is testament to the fantastic team we have at Alcanada and it’s fantastic to share this success with everyone who made it possible.”
