• When did the Club de Golf Alcanada open?
  The course has been open for play since 1st October 2003.
  
  
• Who is the designer of the course?
  Robert Trent Jones jun. has designed this course.

• How long does it take to play the course?
  The average time to play 18 holes at the the Club de Golf Alcanada is
  4 hours 30 minutes for a flight of 4 players

• Is it obligatory to play with a golf cart?
  As the course is not too hilly you can easily walk and we do not restrict our players to using the carts.
  
  
• Can I wear shoes with metal spikes?
  We kindly ask you to play with non-metal/ soft spikes as in case of loss they do less harm to the blades of the mowers working on the course.
  
  
• What is the maximum Handicap to play the Club de Golf Alcanada?
  The maximum Handicap for ladies is 35, for gentlemen 33. We kindly ask you to bring a Handicap Certifcate and show it reception at check in.
  
• Is there a dress code?

          Yes, the staff at Club de Golf Alcanada is authorized to approach members

          and guest, if the dress code is not being adhered to:

          Only collared shirts or shirts designed specifically for golf (i.e. with mock

          collar)may be worn on the course. Women may wear sleeveless golf shirts.

          Jeans, swim suits, leggins, track suits and cut off´s are not permitted on

          the course.

• Is it necessary to reserve tee times?
  We recommend all players to make their tee time bookings prior to playing (see also: “TEE TIMES”). Especially in the high season during spring and autumn it will help the organisation on the first tee and thus the speed of play.
  
  
• Is it allowed to drive on the fairway with the buggies?
  As we are a new golf course we want to give the chance to our grass to mature more. Therefor we do not allow the golf carts on the fairways – cart path only.
  
  
• Can I only play 9 holes?
  After 12.00 in the winter and 14.00 in the summer time you can play
  9 holes.
  
  
• What type of grass do I find on the course?
  The name of the grass is Pas Palum. We chose this type of grass because it is the only one that can survive our irrigation water which has a very high salt concentration. Paspalum vaginatum is a warm season grass, which grow best when temperatures are 25 degrees Celsius or higher.
  
  
• Can I rent golf clubs?
  We rent out high quality Cobra clubs for ladies, men and left handed players as well as juniours.
  
  
• Can I visit Club de Golf Alcanada just to practice on my game?
  Yes, you are welcome to use our practice facility, if necessary we can even supply you with clubs for the driving range.
