the course
The Lighthouse at Alcanada, in all its talismanic splendour, is an emblem you will see from most of the golf course. The lighthouse brought tired sailors, battered by tempestuous seas, back home safely to the sheltering bay of Alcudia in days gone by. Now there is a new resonance; it is a beacon for golfing excellence.
The Alcanada golf course inspires golfers of all levels and not only because of the unique view of the sea, mountains and lighthouse. The thoughtful design, the placement of bunkers, trees and other obstacles by star architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., will put even the experienced golfer to the test with every shot.
Choose the right shot from the tees, play strategically, be patient and you will experience a special golfing experience on this beautiful golf course with excellent course condition.
The minimum playing handicap for our course is 35 for ladies, and 33 for gentlemen.

Robert Trent
Jones Jr.
Robert Trent Jones Jr., the world-wide renowned golf course architect, was hired to lay out Club de Golf Alcanada. Trent Jones Sr, and with well-known brother Rees Jones (also a golf course architect), he started his career with his father’s company. He stayed with his father and even became Vice President until he set up his own course design company RTJ2 in the 1960s. So far, he has designed or remodelled more than 250 golf courses worldwide.
Among his masterpieces, Club de Golf Alcanada must be included – a design started in the 1990s in the name of Hans-Peter Porsche. The course opened in 2003 after 3 years of construction and is today considered one of the top courses in Europe.
